Craig (Jeremy Shamos) and Betsy (Julie Ann Emery) Kettleman could return to make Jimmy McGill's (Bob Odenkirk) life more miserable in the second installment of "Better Call Saul," according to Variety.

Series co-creator Peter Gould let slip in an interview with the publication that the writers would love to see the pair of white-collar criminals. The Kettlemans were recurring characters in the first season, appearing in a total of four episodes.

Jimmy became the couple's lawyer when he stole them away from HH&M. He found the Kettlemans in the dessert with the money they embezzled as they were trying to flee the authorities. Craig was a county treasurer, and with his wife's approval, had stolen over a million dollars in treasury funds.

However, Jimmy later hired Mike (Jonathan Banks) to pirate the money back and return it where it belonged. This forced the culprit to return to HH&M and Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) and accede to a plea.

Meanwhile, Vince Gilligan told the NY Daily News that his anti-hero Walter White would make an appearance in one of the episodes. Rhea Seehorn, who plays Kim Wexler, will also take "a more prominent space" in the next season.

"He didn't have people that grounded him in the world in 'Breaking Bad.' Bringing Kim in and slowly growing her over the season as someone he really cares about was really important," he said.

The co-creator also added that viewers should expect the unexpected in Season 2 and that what would happen next was "actually going to surprise people." The show, he said, would not be what they thought it would be.

Gould also added his thoughts on the matter. "The fact that people have embraced Bob's performance as Jimmy McGill and really gotten into this character, the audience feels the same as us, which is that we love him so much, we're a little bit sad he's going to turn into Saul Goodman. There's something tragic about the fact that this guy, who is so open-hearted and essentially a decent person, becomes this drug lawyer. It creates a lot of tension in the show."

"Better Call Saul" will return next spring on AMC.
