New details about the upcoming content for "Battlefield 1" have been revealed, including the next expansion's release.

After launching the first "Battlefield 1" expansion in March, EA DICE is now preparing to launch the next update for the game: In the Name of the Tsar. Little has been shared about the said expansion, expect that it will be released in late summer of this year and it will focus on the Russian army. The studio's latest announcement notes that players can expect the typical array of new weapons, vehicles, and maps in the upcoming add-on. It was also revealed that the full unveiling for In the Name of the Tsar will happen at EA's E3 event called EA Play, which officially kicks off in June.

Set in the Eastern Front, the second expansion lets players fight with the Russian army as they "witness the brutality of combat" and extreme weather conditions. "Prepare yourself for all new tactics employed by the Russian army. Though the frost is cold, the steel is colder," adds DICE in a blog post (via Express).

Other new content are expected to be released, including the maps Nivelle Nights and Prise de Tahure. Nivelle Nights will be available for Season Pass holders, while Prise de Tahure will soon undergo testing on community test environment servers. There is no word yet on when it will be launched for the full game.

Eurogamer notes that the May patch will also be available soon. Fans of Operations will be extra pleased with the update, as playlists for the mode will be introduced.

"Battlefield 1" unveiled its latest free update in late April, which introduced the Platoons feature. The expansion allows members to be assigned with various ranks, each with different levels of control  over the group. Players can join up to 10 platoons.

Developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts, "Battlefield 1" is exclusively available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
