'Batman: The Killing Joke' release date: Full description now on iTunes

Batman: The Killing Joke Warner Bros. Animation

"Batman: The Killing Joke" is set to launch in just three more months, and now the offiical description for the film has been posted on iTunes. The short description gives further insight into the main plot of the animated film, revealing how closely it will follow the story from the original graphic novel by Alan Moore and artist Brian Bolland.

The description focuses primarily on the goals of the Joker (Mark Hamill) as he kidnaps Commissioner Gordon (Ray Wise) and begins a sadistic experiment to determine what it takes to make a person's mind snap. The synopsis reveals that the Joker will try to do everything to see how much pain Gordon can take before he goes insane.

Joker's main goal is to "show Gotham that even an ordinary man like Commissioner Gordon is only one bad day away from sheer insanity."

Some of the Joker's mind games and tortures can be seen in the official trailer. Fans of the original source material will recall that these tortures include stripping Gordon and torturing him both physically and mentally in the Joker's hideout, all before the Batman (Kevin Conroy) can locate them and save the day.

However, the worst thing that the Joker did was shoot and paralyze Gordon's daughter, Barbara aka Batgirl (Tara Strong). It is hinted in the trailer that this event will also take place in the film and is part of the Joker's plan.

Despite the film being not yet released, it already has garnered a five-star rating based on more than 20 reviews thus far. Most of the praise comes from fan anticipation and appreciation for the graphic novel, however, and not a review of the actual film given that it has yet to be released.

"Batman: The Killing Joke" will officially be released for home video and digital download starting Aug. 2.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
