Barcelona will face a familiar foe today when they play against Levante at Camp Nou aiming to capture the top spot in La Liga this season and remain undefeated.
The Catalans dominated Levante capturing a 5–0 victory in their last meeting back in February also in La Liga play.
Barcelona hold an unblemished record so far in La Liga with wins over Athletic Bilbao (1–0), Malaga (1–0), and Atlético Madrid (2–1).
Despite having a huge win over Levante, Barcelona manager Luis Enrique does not want to be confident.
"I am expecting a Levante with the same attitude that I have seen them with in the first few games of the season. They will be ready to make like difficult for us, getting players behind the ball," Enrique said on the club website.
Barca will miss three players due to injuries and one player serving a suspension when they take on Les Granotes, SB Nation reported.
Players out because of injuries are goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, center-back Thomas Vermaelen, and midfielder Rafinha Alcântara, who might be out for the season with a knee injury.
While center-back Gerard Piqué will be serving the last match of a four-game domestic suspension.
Despite having a depleted roster, it is not all bad news for Barca as defender Dani Alves might make his return from injury after already participating in practice.
The Catalans are currently third in the table with nine points tied with Atlético and just a point behind leaders Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Levante continue the search for their first La Liga win when they play Barcelona.
Les Granotes lost in their first match against Celta Vigo (2–1); had a scoreless draw facing Las Palmas; and saw another draw in their previous La Liga outing versus Sevilla FC (1–1).
It will be a tough task for Levante since they have lost 10 consecutive at Camp Nou, according to SB Nation's report, and are really having struggles on the road.
The club currently has two points and sits at the bottom half of the table, tied with five other clubs that have the same point tally.
