"Attack on Titan" season 2 is finally premiering in 2017, and although very little is known about the upcoming season, it is likely going to follow the story from the manga. If this proves true, a report from Parent Herald reveals it is likely that this means Krista will be revealed as a member of the Reiss royal family.

According to the report, Krista is in fact Historia Reiss and is the true heir to the throne after her father. However, being a member of the Survey Corps she will need to choose between her family and her military service. It is indicated she will side with her friends in the Survey Corps and help them in their rebellion against the Royal Family.

However, this war is not going to go quite easy for them as the Royal Family has been revealed to be Titans as well. Krista's own father is able to shift into a Titan even bigger than the Colossal Titan that first broke a hole in the outer wall and is likely the most powerful Titan they will face thus far.

Fans speculate that if the Survey Corps win in this battle then it is possible that Krista, as Historia Reiss, will be seated as the new Queen and this will signal a change within the walls. It may also lead to a revelation regarding the Reiss family and their connections to the origins of the Titans and how they can control other Titans in and out of the wall.

How Eren will approach all of this is still unknown. The report points out that he is quite unpredictable and his opinion regarding the war, Krista's identity and the Reiss family in general still need to be explored in the anime. His exact role in the Rebellion is also a mystery but it will unravel quickly once season 2 premieres in 2017.
