The release date for the much loved anime series, "Attack on Titan," remains uncertain. The second season is said to premiere sometime this year, but so far, no major announcements about the series have been released yet.

According to speculations, the release of "Attack on Titan" season 2 will be this February, alongside the video game version, which is available in Japan by now. However, there are no indications that the series' release date is just around the corner.

Meanwhile, the anime series is said to follow closely the storylines found in the manga version. Several reports mentioned that season 2 will highlight the rebellion led by Captain Erwin Smith. According to Crossmap, the captain will lose an arm in the next season and leave the 104th Trainees Squad.

Spoilers also indicate that one of the major characters in the story will be killed off. All fingers point to Levi Ackerman, as he fights to become a hero and save his group, composed of Armin Arlert, Eren Yeager, and Mikasa Ackerman.

Season 2 is also said to finally reveal the identity of two titans, the colossal and armored titan. Various reports suggest that these two titans are close acquaintances of Eren, but spoilers indicate that Bertolt Hoover is the colossal titan, while Rein Braun is the armored titan.

Surprisingly, Ymir and Krista Lenz's identities will also be brought to light in the upcoming season. Crossmap reported that Ymir is actually a titan who has been living outside Rose Wall for six decades before she turned back into human after eating a human named Marcel, who happens to be Reiner, Bertolt and Annie's friend.

As for Krista, spoilers stated that she will be revealed as Rod Reiss' daughter and she will acquire the Coordinate, the power that helps a human take control of a titan.

A release date for "Attack on Titan" season 2 is still unconfirmed. Fans should tune in for more updates.
