Last season's Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks will aim to bounce back from a loss that ended their preseason winning streak when they host the Memphis Grizzlies today, Wednesday, at the Philips Arena.
The Hawks were cruising this 2015 preseason winning their first four games before being shut down by the Miami Heat last Sunday, 101–92.
Forward Mike Scott led Atlanta with 19 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in 25 minutes of action coming off the bench.
Guards Kyle Korver and Shelvin Mack were the only other Hawks players to score in double-digits in the loss as they each had 10 points.
Following their game against Memphis, the Hawks will head to Motor City to take on the Detroit Pistons before ending their 2015 preseason.
The Hawks will then resume action on Oct. 27 and begin their 2015–16 regular season, again facing the Pistons.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are among the teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA) thriving in this year's preseason.
Memphis is undefeated so far in the preseason winning all five of its games, including its most recent victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves (90–68) last Sunday.
Five Grizzlies players scored in double-digits, four of which are starters, against the Timberwolves who only had one player score in double-digits.
Guard Courtney Lee led Memphis with 18 points, one rebound, three assists, one steal, and one block.
Veteran Tony Allen followed with 13 points, two rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
All-Star big man Marc Gasol, who re-signed with the team in the offseason, had 12 points, eight rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.
Guards Mike Conley and Russ Smith also joined the double-digit club scoring 12 and 10 points, respectively.
After the matchup with the Hawks, Memphis will have one more road game against the Orlando Magic before ending their preseason campaign.
