ASUS ZenFone Max 2015 release date, specs: 5,000 mAh battery expected

At a recent event that took place in New Delhi, Taiwanese technology company ASUS unveiled plans to release new smartphones and tablet devices this year starting in India. One of these devices, the ZenFone Max, is expected to be available in the market sometime this September.

One of the most interesting features of the upcoming ZenFone Max is its massive 5,000 lithium-polymer mAh battery, giving "users unprecedented amount of mobile freedom," according to a press release by ASUS. Today's smartphones usually use around 2,000 mAh to 3,000 mAh batteries, which is almost half than what the ZenFone Max can offer.

Inside, the ZenFone Max will pack a Qualcomm 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, a 2GB RAM, and up to 16GB built-in memory storage. The internal memory can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

The phone is expected to have a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. Camera features include laser autofocus capability, face detection, HDR, and panorama.

Also, the upcoming ZenFone Max is anticipated to run on the new Android 5.0 version Lollipop operating system (OS). As of this time, the price of the ZenFone Max smartphone is still not known.

Other products expected to come out from ASUS include the selfie-centric ASUS ZenFone Selfie and the ASUS ZenFone Laser 2. The ZenFone Selfie was designed to "see the perfect you," while the ZenFone Max was designed to "see for longer," according to the press release by ASUS.

In comparison, the ZenFone Selfie is expected to sport a similar 5.5-inch display screen but with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, and two sharp 13-megapixel cameras on both sides.
