Argentina vs Belgium live stream free [ABC, ESPN 2]: Watch online World Cup 2014 soccer [TV schedule]

Belgium were considered by many to be dark horses for this year's World Cup, however, if they manage to defeat Argentina today in their quarter-final match then they will be thrust into the spotlight and be considered as genuine contenders.

Today's game between Belgium and Argentina will kick off at 12 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on ABC. The game will also be available online through live stream – free for ESPN 2 subscribers – via the link provided below.

Argentina have struggled somewhat through the tournament so far, but they will be considered favorites to win today. In the previous four meetings between these sides, Argentina have won three, although only two of those four games have come in the World Cup, and each team has won one each.

The most recent encounter between the teams was in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. In that semi-final game Argentina won 2-0 to progress to the Final.

However, Argentina will be weary for today's quarter-final; in their last three World Cup quarter-finals Argentina have been eliminated at this stage of the tournament.

Lionel Messi will be key for them today, and he has been their star player so far that has dragged his team through the group stages and Last 16. He has scored or given an assist in five of Argentina's seven goals so far in this tournament, and impressively three of his four goals have come from outside the penalty area – revealing just how much he has rescued Argentina in tight games by a flash of brilliance from not strong goal opportunities.

Showing how important he is, Argentina are undefeated in their last 25 games in which he has played for them; winning 18 and drawing 7 of those.

Today's game will kick off at 12 p.m. EST and can be watched by clicking here.
