After the couple of quick patches to its new iOS 11, Apple released yet another update to its mobile operating system. The update is meant to fix certain issues with iPhone 6S, 7, and 7 Plus.
According to Apple, iOS version 11.0.3 included a fix for an issue where audio and haptic feedback stopped working on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus units. The patch also addressed the problem where touch input became unresponsive on iPhone 6S devices that were not serviced with genuine Apple parts.
The new update is compatible with devices starting from iPhone 5S, iPad mini 2, and the 6<sup>th generation of iPod touch to their newer iterations. The patch is around 276 MB in size. This brings the total size of the iOS 11 updates to around 3GB in just three weeks.
The new version does not add anything to the operating system's security. However, this is not a complete surprise, given that Apple usually updates its iOS security features every month or two.
The good news is that initial feedback confirmed that the two issues that Apple specifically released the update for have been fixed for most users.
However, these specific issues are not the main complaint of iPhone users over the iOS 11. Since its release, users have noticed a clear declined in their phones' battery performance. Overall sluggishness and crashing have also been observed, things that were very seldom occurrences in the previous iOS version.
Overall, the user feedback for the patch has not been positive. Users have taken to social media and Reddit forums to share the continued crashing, poor battery life, and slow performance of their iPhones after the 11.0.3 update. It seems that Apple has not addressed these major problems that have risen since the roll out of iOS 11.
While iPhone users will still need to wait before they can get a fix for the issues that many of them have been complaining about, Apple is now working on another major update on the operating system, the iOS 11.1.
