Apple Event September 2013: iPhone 5s and 5C, iPad 5 and iOS 7 release to overshadow IFA Berlin 2013?

Rumors are swirling that the unconfirmed Apple event which will be the platform for the unveiling of the next generation iPhone will take place Sept. 10, 2013.

Ina Fried of AllThingsD 'confirmed' Sunday that according to 'anonymous sources,' a special event is scheduled for next month.

If Sept. 10 is indeed the date that the iPhone will be unveiled, it will take place during the IFA consumer electronics trade show in Berlin, which will be held Sept. 6-11. That would mean that Apple could take the spotlight away from any new products that are released around during the second week of September.

Samsung is slated to release the Galaxy Note 3at the IFA event and HTC may release its own version of the tablet/phone hybrid – the HTC One Max.

Following the company custom, Apple CEO Tim Cook will likely be delivering the keynote speech in which he will introduce the new iPhone 5S and the budget iPhone 6 (or iPhone 5C) model.

Aside from the new iPhones, Apple will also release the latest mobile operating system – the iOS 7 – which will come preinstalled on the phone, and a new full-size 5th generation iPad.

The budget iPhone 6/5C is expected have the same specs and features as the current iPhone 5, but encased with a cheaper body. The new phone may come with a plastic casing and chassis of both plastic and metal. The budget price does not mean that the screen will be compromised, as it is expected to come with a 4 inch retina display, A6 chip, and 8 megapixel camera. For the first time, Apple will offer their iPhones in colors other than black and white - red, green, yellow, and blue.

The next generation iPhone 5S is expected to have upgraded specs, with A7, improved battery, and 12-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and a fingerprint sensor.
