Angels and Saints at Ephesus tops Billboard classical music chart

Angels and Saints at Ephesus, the hit CD from the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles, is No 1 on Billboard magazine's Classical Music Overall Chart for the first time since it was released May 7.

The sacred CD from the Missouri-based nuns also remains atop Billboard's Classical Traditional Music Chart for a ninth consecutive week, and is No 3 on Billboard's Bestselling Internet Album Chart and No 7 on its Contemporary Christian and Christian Gospel charts. The album also is No 127 on Billboard's Top 200 Overall Music Chart, the first time it has placed on the chart.

The Benedictines' critically acclaimed debut CD, released last year, also continues to impress, claiming the No 2 spot on Billboard magazine's Classical Traditional Music Chart and No 14 on the Classical Music Overall Chart.

Angels and Saints at Ephesus has topped a group of classical albums that includes Fifty Shades of Grey: The Classical Album and Downton Abbey: The Essential Collection.

"The Benedictines of Mary continue to astound with the success of their music," said Monica Fitzgibbons, cofounder of De Montfort Music.

"Even better than chart rankings is the outpouring of feedback that has come in from people who have found sustained peace and a sense of the sacred through their time spent with this beautiful music. We thank the Benedictines of Mary for agreeing to share their music this way."

De Montfort enlisted nine-time International Grammy winning producer Christopher Alder, who hails from Germany, and two-time Grammy winning engineer Mark Donahue to record and capture the Sisters in their contemplative environment singing all of Angels and Saints at Ephesus.

In addition to the CD, both Angels and Saints at Ephesus and Advent at Ephesus are available as a digital download for all devices at a variety of online retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble and the iTunes Store.
