Amazon's Prime Day sale 2015 promises to be 'grander than Black Friday sales'

Amazon will be turning 20 this month, and to celebrate its birthday, the company has announced that on July 15, a big "Amazon Prime Day" sale will happen.

According to Amazon's statement last Monday, the upcoming sale will be grander than that of Black Friday. "Prime Day is a one-day only event filled with more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members around the globe," said Amazon Prime vice president Greg Greeley.

At the strike of midnight on July 15, Prime members can enjoy thousands of awesome deals which will be offered every 10 minutes. These deals will only be available to Prime members across the U.S., U.K, Japan, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Australia and Germany.

Big sales will apply to various departments, including home appliances, electronics and gadgets and apparel. According to the statement, shoppers can also enjoy different Lightning Deals and Deals of the Day. What's more enticing is the unlimited free shipping that Amazon will offer on that day.

Customers will experience convenient shopping at its finest as they are given access to different on-sale items through their tablet or smartphone anytime and anywhere.

For those who are not Prime customers, they can still enjoy the sale. "If you're not already a Prime member, you'll want to join so you don't miss out on one of the biggest deals extravaganzas in the world," said Greeley.

Amazon allows non-Prime customers to sign up for a 30-day free trial and still experience the July sale. They can simply drop the subscription before Prime charges will start to apply.

The Prime Day sale should entice new customers to subscribe with Amazon, but according to FastCompany, the sale could be launched as Amazon faces competition from Walmart, which will also be launching a summer sale, and eBay, which will reportedly offer a subscription similar to that of Prime.
