Skye (Chloe Bennet) will find herself as the arbitrator in an intense face off between Mack (Henry Simmons) and Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) in the upcoming season of Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
TV Line reports that Mack is not sold on the idea of Skye bringing in Inhumans to the team. The latter has been taking her job as the head of Secret Warriors seriously, traveling the world together with Mack and Lance (Nick Blood) to find others who were triggered by the spread of the Terrigen Crystals.
In season 3, Skye will be introducing Lincoln to her new team, but the members, most especially Mack, will reportedly not be comfortable with his presence. In the photo released by Marvel, the two can be seen standing tensely, looking at each other, while a concerned Skye is on the sidelines.
The image appears to be in conjunction with the trailer previously shown for the series, where Mack tells Lincoln he is not afraid of him. The Inhuman, also known as Spark Plug, then replies with a loaded statement, "You should be."
With the obvious tension between the two, Skye is in a vulnerable position. She bonded with Lincoln in season 2, where viewers felt romantic sparks between them. Meanwhile, Mack is her best friend and she naturally feels she should be on his side. But as the team leader, she needs to get a grip of her warring members and make them focus on the job at hand. What will Skye do to make Mack and Lincoln work together?
Executive producer Jeff Bell, however, was quick to assure fans that the strain between the two men will be the least of Skye's worries in the upcoming season. According to him, the team will quickly bounce back from the said setback and present a united front against the new ATCU (Advanced Threat Containment Unit).
"They really are against us, which forces our team to come together, whereas we were splintered last season," said Bell.
Marvel's "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
