24/7 prayer space celebrates Christianity in London

A 24/7 prayer space has opened at St Paul's Cathedral to celebrate Christianity in the capital ahead of the launch of the Diocese of London's Capital Vision 2020.

The interactive space has been set up in partnership with 24/7 Prayer and Holy Trinity Brompton.

Churches across London are being encouraged to engage in a week of continual prayer and celebrate Christianity in the capital between now and Capital Vision 2020's launch at the cathedral on 6 June.

Capital Vision 2020 sets out the Diocese of London's strategy for growth and development over the next seven years.

The strategy is centred on confidence, compassion and creativity, and includes the creation of a new Christian presences in the capital.

There will be six prayer stations to reflect key themes of Capital Vision 2020, including a tree where visitors can hang their prayers.

Churches in the diocese have also signed up to pray. St Mary's Kenton will host 40 hours of continual prayer to be broadcast on the web via www.stmaryskenton.org

St Stephen's Westbourne Park will also be hosting a day of prayer on 4 June and All Saints Margaret Street will hold a vigil of prayer on 5 June from 7pm until midnight.
