Actress Candice Accola's pregnancy announcement has resulted to a lot of speculations from the cast of the show regarding the plot of the seventh season of "The Vampire Diaries."

Accola, who portrays the role of vampire Caroline Forbes in the supernatural drama, recently revealed that she is having a baby with her husband Joe King. This means that her growing bump could have an effect on her character when the seventh season of the series returns in fall. But the cast of the fan-favorite show talked about how they can incorporate Accola's pregnancy in the storyline of "TVD."

Since the vampires in Mystic Falls cannot conceive a child because of their nature, it would be hard to imagine how the series developers will include Accola's baby in the story to explain her growing tummy. But E! News gathered the actors' thoughts regarding the possibility of using Accola's bulging belly to add another element in the plot of the upcoming season.

Accola herself has no idea how executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries will make a way to bring her real life pregnancy to the story. In an interview with TV Line, she said that she is leaving everything to the show's bosses to decide what's best for her character.

"Julie and Caroline are the best people to ask about [whether or not the pregnancy will be written into the show.] To be honest, I'm along for the ride just like the viewers are," the actress said.

Nonetheless, she still has an idea about raising the baby in Mystic Falls if Stefan turns out to be the child's father. In the interview with E! News, Accola said that she can imagine that Caroline and Stefan's vampire powers could be very useful in raising a child.

"I think with vamp speed, that would definitely help with diaper changes. I don't know if they'd compel a baby not to cry? I don't know if that's cool for vampire parents to do," she said.

But the rumored dad-to-be does not seem to be looking forward to having bonding time with the baby. Based on actor Paul Wesley's suggestion, his character Stefan would send the child to a far-flung boarding school so that they do not have to deal with it for a long time.

On the other hand, Ian Somerhalder seemed to be contemplating Caroline's pregnancy and suggested that the child could be Damon's since his character is just waiting for Elena (Nina Dobrev) to wake up. It is not uncommon to hear stories about men having affairs with their girlfriend's best friend. But Somerhalder seriously believes that Accola and her husband will be amazing parents once the baby comes out.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 is set to return on Thursday, Oct. 8, on The CW.
