With production for HBO's "True Detective" season 2 still to be carried out, speculations and small details of the show's filming in the West Coast and the addition of two new lead cast members have surfaced.

While Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell have been signed on to the crime drama series, Vaughn has not revealed information about his character. On the other hand, Farrell has already shared his sentiments about the script for the upcoming episodes, describing it as "strong" and "phenomenal."

In an interview with the Chicago Tribune during a promo tour for his movie "Miss Julie," the 38-year-old actor said, "I've only read half of the eight episodes. It's phenomenal writing, strong writing. It's all there on the page."

Farrell also stated that he prefers to look over the scripts to help him visualize his character and set the direction for such role.

"Nic Pizzolatto has done an incredible job creating this new world that is a separate time and separate place and has a completely new array of characters than the first season," the "Winter's Tale" actor said.

When asked about his costar Vaughn, Farrell did mention about his plans to spend time in going over their roles together. The 44-year-old "Delivery Man" actor was reportedly seen at the Chicago Film Festival which Farrell had attended as well.

Season 1 of "True Detective" was filmed within nine months.  If filming for season 2 begins this October or November, fans may be looking forward to its premiere in summer of 2015.

The second season will reportedly be placed in a new setting with a new set of cast members and characters. Cary Fukunaga will still write the episodes for the upcoming season that will look into the transportation system and follow the story of a city manager who will be killed after a deal gone wrong.

Such character will be found with various satanic symbols and carvings on his chest, which will then be associated with black magic.
