'Tokyo Ghoul: re' Episode 3 release date, spoilers: Haise Sasaki starts to regain memories as Ken Kaneki

Things have been going really fast in the first two episodes of "Tokyo Ghoul:re." The latest season to the popular anime series has lived up to the fans' expectations so far, delivering the same grotesque but intense sequences. In the upcoming third episode, it is rumored that the main protagonist, Haise Sasaki, will finally come back to his senses following an important turn of events at the end of episode 2.

There are no published spoilers or promo teasers in connection with "Tokyo Ghoul:re" episode 3, although the events that took place in the previous episode will serve as a hint on what would transpire next. At this point, only one official promo image and the episode 3 title, "Eve: fresh," were revealed, which do not say much about the upcoming episode's storyline. However, it may have something to do with Haise Sasaki' slowly remembering his previous identity as Ken Kaneki.

To recap the previous episode of "Tokyo Ghoul:re," Haise had some moments of mental breakdown as memories have kept rushing back to his mind. For one, his recent battle with Orochi had triggered a flashback of Haise's past life as Kaneki. Moreover, upon learning that Orochi is actually Nishiki after removing his mask, he called Haise as Kaneki, thus driving the latter crazy when he started remembering things. Before Haise could cause more destruction in the midst of his breakdown, Akira decided to put him to sleep with a tranquilizer.

Later on, when Haise fought Arima, the latter had noticed that Haise is already becoming more like Ken Kaneki. He is worried that Haise's memories would come back in no time, and in "Tokyo Ghoul:re" episode 3, the character might finally remember who he is.

Perhaps the last straw in restoring Haise's past memories was the meeting with Touka Kirishima. At the end of episode 2, Haise went to a coffee shop, which happens to be owned by Touka, and the two immediately recognized each other's faces. The moment that Haise took a sip of Touka's coffee, he recalled the times he spent with Touka as Ken Kaneki at Anteiku. He started crying as he remembered all the precious memories he shared with Touka, telling himself that he has never seen someone as beautiful as her.

"Tokyo Ghoul:re" episode 3 is expected to be released in Japan later this week.
