"The Mentalist" season 7 will be returning to TV screens earlier than expected. The early return follows the cancellation of the show by CBS. Season 7 will be the final season of "The Mentalist" and it will have a chance to finish up the series in 13 episodes.

Season 7 picks up right where it left off, with the budding romance between Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon. It's actually weird that after six seasons, it's the only time the two decided to get together. But as they say, it's better late than never.

In the season 6 finale, Teresa had to make a decision. She chose to live with Agent Pike in Washington D.C. and leave Patrick behind. However, when she realized that it was a wrong choice, Teresa effortlessly dropped everything and went to Patrick.

This season 7, Patrick and Teresa will have to deal with their romantic feelings for each other, but it's not going to be easy. For one, they have to balance their work and their relationship. According to a report by IBT, Patrick and Teresa will have trouble doing so. Next, they have to worry about Agent Pike. He's definitely not happy about Teresa's decision.

According to TV Line, Patrick and Agent Pike will have an intense conversation about Teresa. They are both in love with her and it will be interesting to see how the two men duke it out for the girl.

Well, Patrick and Agent Pike may have time to figure things out as Teresa will be going to prison. She was seen wearing an orange jumpsuit and, according to rumors, she will be sentenced to serve some time, but for what? TV Line guessed that it's an undercover job for Teresa.

Again, the final season is comprised of 13 episodes with the last two episodes airing at the same time for a two-hour series finale. Meanwhile, the trailer for season 7 is already out.

Make sure to catch "The Mentalist" premiere episode "Nothing But Blue Skies" on Nov. 30 on CBS.
