Bigger, darker danger is lurking in Beacon Hills when "Teen Wolf" returns for season 5B in 2016.

The latest trailer for "Teen Wolf" season 5B was released by MTV on Monday, giving the first glimpse of the latest threats that are coming for Scott (Tyler Posey) and the rest of his diminishing pack.

The teaser reveals that Scott will once again battle the season's main antagonists, the Dread Doctors. At the same time, Scott will also try to live a normal life by going back to school and pretend that things are normal despite all the rising death rate in town. The trailer also shows Scott's attempt to win back Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) to his pack, and he will turn to Malia (Shelley Hennig) for help. But it seems like even the werecoyote has no idea how to convince Stiles to patch things up with his former best friend.

One of the scenes in the promo trailer shows the pile of dead bodies. The clip does not reveal who was responsible for all the murders and why they died. However, rumors claim that the deaths have a link to Parrish (Ryan Kelley). Does it mean that the sheriff's assistant is meant to be another bad guy in Beacon Hills?

Another element in the trailer shows Theo (Cody Christian) and his growing pack return to town. This means that the threat brought by the scheming Chimera will be felt in the second half of the series.

Other notable elements in the trailer show the return of Kira to Beacon Hills, as well as the reappearance of werewolf-hunter Chris Argent (J.R. Bourne) and his father Gerard (Michael Hogan).

Most importantly for Stydia fans, they will find out that Styles will save Lydia (Holland Roden) in the second half of "Teen Wolf" season 5.

The supernatural action teen drama is slated to return on MTV on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
