Maci Bookout was 16 when she got pregnant with her first child, Bentley, with her then-boyfriend Ryan Edwards. Bookout's experience was chronicled on MTV's "Teen Mom" at that time. Now 23, Bookout has welcomed her second child to the world, daughter Jayde Carter, with her boyfriend Taylor McKinney.
On Friday, May 29, Bookout share the good news with her followers on Twitter, saying, "Jayde made her grand entrance at 1:59pm today. She weighed 7 lbs 15oz at birth. She is beautiful and as healthy as can be!"
On the same day, McKinney also took to his Twitter account and wrote, "Jayde Carter".
MTV revealed that the happy couple broke their baby news by hugging the production crew of "Teen Mom OG." They then told Bentley, who was celebrating his sixth birthday, about his new brother or sister, giving him presents from his soon-to-arrive sibling. One episode of the reality series shows the 6-year old initially baffled by the news, then after he understood what the fuss was all about, he promised his mom that he would help take care of the baby.
In an interview with People last March, Bookout revealed that she was excited for Bentley to have a sibling. She said, "I think it will be good for him to finally have to share the spotlight."
Bookout revealed her baby's name last March in an interview with E! News, ahead of the premiere of "Teen Mom OG."
She and her boyfriend appear together on the show, which is the franchise's fifth season. The reality TV stars have been together for two and a half years. The Chatanooga State college student also revealed to People that they are definitely thinking about tying the knot.
"After the baby comes and we get settled in with parenting two children, that will definitely be our next step," said the 23 year old.
During the past months, Bookout has kept her followers updated on her pregnancy through regular posts on Instagram. A picture of the baby has yet to be revealed by the couple.
