Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) will find herself in an uncompromising situation in the upcoming episode of the new CBS series "Supergirl."

In "How Does She Do It?" TV Guide reports that the superhero will be torn between pleasing Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) or heeding the call of duty. While babysitting her boss' son, a series of explosion will rock the National City. If Kara chooses to leave the boy, she will incur Cat's wrath, something that she does not want to happen as an employee. Cat will also wonder where she will be going that is more important than doing the boss a favor.

But if she does not hurry to check on the bombings, more and more people will be hurt. Being a superhero is a taxing job, which Kara will soon realize. After the embarrassing article where Cat portrayed Supergirl as the embodiment of "the worst traits of her generation," Kara was itching to prove how wrong she was. She wanted to be acknowledged as an entirely different superhero than her cousin. Will she let her pride get in the way of her duty?

Last episode, Kara battled with Reactron, a villain who has harbored hatred over Superman for a long time. His wife died in a disaster caused by terrorists and although the Man of Steel saved the day, he was not able to keep everyone safe. When Reactron learned that Kara was the cousin of his nemesis, he set out to kill her. James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) doubted that she could defeat him, especially without the backing of the DEO. When he saw that Kara was not faring well in the battle, he called Superman for help.

Kara was not pleased. She eventually did succeed in defeating Reactron, however, and had a heart-to-heart talk with James. He said that he only contacted Superman because he was scared he might lose her. Unfortunately for them, his ex-girlfriend Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan Tatum) ruined the moment. Through her superb sense of hearing, Kara learned that Lucy wanted to get back with James. Now, he is feeling conflicted about what to do. Will he give Lucy a second chance or will he pursue his budding relationship with Kara?

"Supergirl" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
