Production for season 2 of "Stranger Things" is ongoing as the Netflix series released a picture of the whole cast at a table read earlier this month. Filming started on Nov. 8 and production will continue until next year, though little is known about filming details as the show's social media pages have not revealed any behind-the-scenes photos for season 2. The cast of the hit show also seems to be keeping the new season's details firmly under wraps by not spoiling anything on Instagram and Twitter. Now, fans are wondering what happens in the next installment after Will (Noah Schnapp) was brought back home, while Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) seemingly disappeared into thin air.

As Brown's return was recently confirmed, it was speculated that Mike (Finn Wolfhard) might head into the Upside-Down to look for Eleven. It can be recalled that the two had a very close friendship, and at one point, Mike even wanted to take her to dance. The two also shared a quick kiss as they started developing a crush on each other. In the finale, Eleven fought off the Demogorgon using her powers, and as she defeated the monster, she bid Will goodbye before disappearing from the room.

Viewers have aired their theories on the little girl's whereabouts, with one Reddit user saying that perhaps Mike will end up wherever Eleven is in season 2.

"If it is indeed the Upside-Down, then Will may offer glimpses into their whereabouts," said the Redditor.

In a recent interview with Dazed, Wolfhard didn't divulge what's up next for his character, but the 13-year-old had some hopes on what Mike could go through in season 2.

"I'd love to see myself a little heartbroken," said the actor. "You know, because Elle's been gone a year, so I'd love to see him [have to] conquer being a little sad, a little depressed."

"Stranger Things" season 2 is slated to premiere in 2017 on Netflix.
