Sony Xperia Z4 Compact, Xperia Z4 Ultra coming out?

 Sony website

Sony has announced the release of their next smarphone flagship, the Xperia Z4. However, it will only be initially available in Japan, but observers note that with the company being a worldwide player, it is inevitable that the Z4 will come out in the global market. Fresh from its launch, there are now rumors saying that Sony will also come out with the Compact and the Ultra versions of the Z4.

Documents found at an Indonesian regulatory site, as reported by Sogi, suggest that Sony listed three new devices with model numbers E5803, E6683, and E6883. Observers note that these models correspond to Sony's previous devices — the Z3 Compact is model D5803, and the previous Ultras have C6683 and C6803 as their designated model numbers.

Meanwhile, the Mobil Telefon website reported that a list corresponding to what may be the Z4 Compact was spotted in a catalog for a spring/summer collection of NTT DoCoMo, a mobile carrier in Japan. In the report, a soon-to-be-coming Z4 Compact was seen listed alongside the new Z4 along with previous smartphones under Sony's Xperia line up.

Previously, Sony released two Compact versions of its flagship products, with the devices a much-lower model of its originals in terms of specs such as display resolution and battery life. The Compact series also features a design typically smaller than their flagship counterparts. The Ultra series, on the other hand, refer to Xperia products with bigger screens and are typically categorized as phablets.

No details have been leaked yet as to the upcoming Z4 Compact's specs. However, it can be expected that it will be lower than the new flagship's specifications.

The new Xperia Z4 has a Snapdragon 810 processor and 3 GB of RAM with a 5.2-inch full HD display. It also features a 20.7 MP main camera at the back, a 5.1 MP front shooter, and a 2930 mAh battery.
