'Rookie Blue' season 6 spoilers: Andy's baby is Sam's

Rookie Blue season 6 ABC

One of the most shocking moments in "Rookie Blue" is when Andy (Missy Peregrym) came forward and told Sam (Ben Bass) and his new girlfriend Marlo (Rachael Ancheril) that she is pregnant with Sam's baby. Fans have been wondering if this is true or if it is someone else's child, but executive producer Tassie Cameron has just put these talks to rest.

Cameron confirmed via a report from TVLine that the baby is indeed Sam's and that the showrunners are not going to use this plot thread to simply rekindle old relationships and sever new ones.

"We didn't want to do a love triangle," Cameron explained. "We wanted to do a life triangle."

This means that the Sam-and-Marlo relationship may continue despite the big hurdles that they'll have to jump through. According to a report from Enstarz, Andy did tell Marlo that she isn't trying to get in between Marlo and Sam and that she is only "trying to do her job."

A promotional trailer for season 6 also shows Marlo completely losing control over her personal issues. She is shown investigating a case regarding a missing girl, and when the father of said girl states that the family wants to handle the problem privately, Marlo yells that this is his family and that he needs to protect them.

She is later shown breaking down in tears in front of Sam, stating "I have no idea how to do this," indicating that having a relationship with a man who has a child with someone else might be too much for her to handle, especially with their line of work as police officers.

"Rookie Blue" season 6 could be the show's last as there has been no confirmation yet for renewal for season 7. Despite this, the growing drama between the characters hint that the show will not go down without a bang.

"Rookie Blue" season 6 will premiere in the U.S. starting June 25.
