Although Claire (Catriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) will be decades apart in "Outlander" season 3, fans will still be treated with steamy moments.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Balfe promised that there will be more intimate scenes in the upcoming season than there were in the previous season, which should be good news to those who missed the intimacy.

As revealed in the past, the first part of "Outlander" season 3 will show what Jamie and Claire's lives are like without each other. They will be reunited eventually, but fans will have to wait.

"When she has gone back to Boston and she's not with Jamie, she's a mother and she's very professional, but she's put a side of herself away. That kind of sexual, romantic side of herself has been shelved almost for 20 years," Balfe said.

"When she gets back to Jamie, she's back to ... whatever age she was supposed to be—time when she first met him because that's when she really, I think, first came alive," she went on to say.

However, Claire will not only be intimate with Jamie in "Outlander" season 3, but also with her modern-day husband, Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies).

With Claire and Jamie far apart, their reunion will be made special. Balfe warned that fans will have to wait "a little bit," but this, by no means, will get in the way of the amount of intimacy in "Outlander" season 3. In fact, she said that it is not going to be as scarce as last season.

Balfe also promised that "Outlander" season 3 will feature nods to the novels by Diana Gabaldon, particularly "Voyager," which is where the new season is based on.

The actress said that it is important for the show to get these "iconic fan moments" right. Fans are very particular with the intimate scene in the print shop between Jamie and Claire.

"We haven't actually gotten to film that yet, but I think the writers are well aware that they have to do the fans right," Balfe said.

She also said that moments including Jamie and the cave as well as the interaction between Claire and her daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) are also getting fans more excited for "Outlander" season 3.

According to Vanity Fair, "Outlander" season 3 will premiere in April 2017 on Starz.
