Belle (Emilie de Ravin) may end up leaving Rumple (Robert Carlyle) once she learns about his greed for power in the second half of "Once Upon a Time" season 5.

During the midseason finale, Rumple tricked Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) into using an enchanted dagger to send all the Dark Ones back to Hell. In doing so, the pirate also sacrificed himself just so Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and all of Storybrooke would be rid of the Darkness. Emma was so devastated with what happened, until she learned that Rumple betrayed them all. She planned to get Hook back and forced Rumple to come with her to the Underworld for the mission. Emma told Rumple that if he would not do as she said, she would tell Belle the truth.

The reason why Rumple deceived Hook was purely a selfish act. He wanted to become the only Dark One left in Storybrooke. Rumple enjoys the power that goes with it. With Emma threatening to tell Belle what he has done, he has no option but to follow Emma to Hell. Belle, meanwhile, will stay in Storybrooke and wait her husband's return. But what if she learns about what Rumple has done from a third party? Will she run away and leave him just like before?

In an interview with TV Line, co-creator Adam Horowitz shared their plans for the couple. According to him, Belle will not get on the boat with the rest of the Storybrooke characters, but she will still play an important part in the story. As for her relationship with her husband, the executive producer hinted that there will be a huge twist soon.

"We left them in a place where that relationship was evolving -- though unbeknownst to Belle, her husband has gone darker than ever. We're not abandoning any of those story threads and we're hoping to pick up on them in an unexpected way," he said.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly has released a picture of Hades, to be played by actor Greg Germann, for the upcoming season 5B. The image shows the King of the Underworld wearing a suit and sporting blue flame for hair. According to executive producer Edward Kitsis, Hades is a "very dangerous fellow," but he is also a character who likes to "have fun."

"Once Upon a Time" season 5 will return on Sunday, March 6, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
