More fragments of evidence that point to the existence of the purported Nexus 8 tablet come to light. It was only these past few days that the so-called Google tablet was hinted, but a new batch of photos already shows a dummy of the tablet. 

The leaked images from China-based site Pad News seem to have been fashioned to give users an idea of the device's dimensions. The supposed dummy was photographed next to a ruler. This showed that it is 200 mm long, which GSM Arena says is the same length that feels right for the device. 

This measurement would make for an 8-inch tablet with a 4:3 ratio, which is what is expected of Google to integrate into the device. The software giant also used this ratio on last year's Nexus 9, and reports say that their upcoming tablets from here on out will share the same proportion. 

The second image from the bunch showcases one side of the Nexus 8, showing that the device will don a metal frame. In the corner is speaker grill. However, the way the photo was taken doesn't show if this corner is on the top portion or bottom portion of the tablet. 

Along with these photos is a screenshot of a Geekbench test that exposed some of Nexus 8's alleged specs, which include an octa-core processor and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which is odd considering the device was touted to be the first tablet to run the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow. 

But GSM Arena argues that the Nexus 8 that stopped by the Geekbench test could be one that was in the early stages of development, which would explain why it has Lollipop rather than the latest version of the Android OS. Media outlets warn, however, that a Geekbench test such as this is easy to forge so it is best to take this with a pinch of salt.
