The Major League Baseball (MLB) 2015 World Series will start this Tuesday and with both clubs revealing their starting pitching rotation, the series between the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals promises to be an interesting matchup.
New York named first who will be the club's starting pitchers for each game, while Royals manager Ned Yost made the announcement Monday during media day.
In order of the games, the Mets will go with Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Steven Matz.
Outfielder Yoenis Céspedes, who has been a huge part of New York's success this season, expressed readiness to play in Game 1 despite not being at a hundred percent due to a left shoulder woe.
In an interview with ESPN Deportes, Céspedes discussed the injury and shared that he took a cortisone shot to ease the pain and inflammation of the shoulder.
According to the 30-year-old, the doctor told him that he has a swollen acromioclavicular joint (AC joint), which is only a minor injury.
Meanwhile, the Royals revealed their starting pitching rotation with Edinson Volquez, Johnny Cueto, Yordano Ventura, and Chris Young.
The Royals' rotation is the same they had in their American Championship League Series (ACLS) victory over the Toronto Blue Jays that returned them to the World Series.
Volquez will be called up first then Cueto, whom Yost chose to start in the second game and, if necessary, a Game 6 due to the way he feeds off the home crowd, according to Sports Illustrated.
Then the two will be followed by Ventura and Young in the next two games of the series.
The Mets are back in the World Series after last making it in the 2000 season where they fell to the New York Yankess in five games.
Meanwhile, the Royals are trying to have a better result than last season's trip to the World Series.
Kansas City made it to the same stage last season but was edged by the San Francisco Giants in seven games.
Game 1 of the 2015 World Series will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 27, with the Royals hosting the Mets at the Kauffman Stadium.
