Fans of the long-running "Mortal Kombat" franchise have nothing but praises for its recent installment, and the developers are making sure that new content and tweaks make it to "Mortal Kombat X" for players to continually enjoy. In the latest round of developments for the title, it seems that speculations about an upcoming expansion pack is getting more solid, as game co-creator Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios continue to tease fans with hints about more add-on content.

The "Kombat Pack 2" rumors started when Boon posted an image on Twitter with a hashtag "#IfThereIsAKombatPack2." Moreover, in a livestream presentation showcasing the latest character addition Tremor, NetherRealm Studios referred to the current add-on expansion as "Kombat Pack 1." This expansion add-on pack introduced additional DLC-exclusive characters, namely Jason Vorhees, Tanya, The Predator, and Tremor.

Meanwhile, the debate on who Boon and his development team would be adding to the Kombatant roster is still raging. Rumors have said that the second add-on expansion may add a number of characters who are currently on "Mortal Kombat X" as non-playable ones, such as Rain, Sindel, and Baraka. As for fans who are hoping to see someone from outside of the "Mortal Kombat" universe, there is a report from VCPost that says NetherRealm Studios is getting permission from Todd McFarlane and Image Comics to make use of Spawn.

In other "Mortal Kombat X" news, fans are still waiting for the older-gen console versions of the title to be released. Previous reports placed the release of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions sometime this month. Not directly giving a specific release date for the ported versions, Boon on Twitter just stated a vague "an update is coming soon" reply.

"Mortal Kombat X" is currently available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
