'Mortal Kombat X' DLC characters list to include Predator in July

When the DLC characters for the latest installment in the "Mortal Kombat" franchise were announced, the order on which they are to appear are Jason Vorhees, Tanya, Tremor, and the Predator. With Vorhees and Tanya already out, fans expected Tremor to be the latest character addition when the update rolls out. However, a recent post by NetherRealm's Ed Boon reveals that the next character in line could be the Predator, and that the update will be coming next month.

In a Twitter post, Boon wrote: "Recreate the Predator Movie (Komplete with Carl Weathers Jax) in Mortal Kombat X. Koming Soon..."

The post was accompanied by a screenshot showing the Predator and Jax squaring off against each other, with "July" watermarked at the bottom-right corner. The post also confirms that aside from the new additional character, some old ones will be getting alternate character skins, as evidenced by Jax's Carl Weathers costume from the original "Predator" film.

The Predator will be the third DLC character to be released, after Jason Vorhees and Tanya. The DLC characters are available both as stand-alone individual purchases as well as an inclusion in the $30 Kombat Pack. For those who want to check out and try the new DLC characters before making a purchase, "Mortal Kombat X" has a Challenge Tower where the new characters may be listed as playable fighters.

It was also reported that Klassic Fatalities for the characters will be updated. Checking out the title's Krypt, some upcoming content is listed in the "Finishers" section. In addition, the Fatalities can also be found in each character's move list. The names of these finishing moves match up with fatalities found in previous "MK" games, such as Scorpion's Toasty fatality as well as new fatalities for Sub-Zero and Sonya.

"Mortal Kombat X" is currently available across console and mobile platforms, as well as for the PC.
