Microsoft Surface Pro 3, the predecessor of the soon-to-be released Microsoft Surface Pro 4Microsoft

A new and powerful Microsoft Surface Pro 4 could be out by Summer which should give Apple's line of tablets something to worry about. With only rumors to go by, it seems imminent that the next Microsoft tablet will be out in the coming months.

Further fueling speculations of its potential coming is the fact that the current Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is now being offered with price cut-backs, a possible scenario that would allow current retailers to clean up their inventory of remaining stocks and eventually paving the way for the debut of its successor in the Surface Pro 4.

A likely date of release could be July where Microsoft would unveil the Windows 10. If not, it could come in a month or two (August or September). For those who are unaware, the laplet is bragged to be Microsoft's ticket in unifying its other products (PC, Windows Phone, Windows Embedded and the Xbox One).

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 promises to be a powerful device that would rely on Intel's Broadwell line of processors. It will come out in two variants (12-inch and 14-inch) which will most likely boast of a 2K screen resolution (2160 x 1440 pixels), 16GB of memory and 1TB of internal storage. It is also expected to carry a Stylus Pen which its predecessor (Microsoft Surface Pro 3) had.

The Surface Pro 4 will come with an 8MP main camera and 3.5MP front-facing shooter.

The Surface Pro 4 will come in a thin make and will showcase the highly touted fan-less technology. With regards to usage, eventual owners can expect a bump of 1.7 hours of use thanks to the new Core M chips which will be used.

There is no official word yet on pricing though there are some who have pegged its SRP to range somewhere in the vicinity of $1,200 to $2,000.
