In the next episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," Alphonso Mackenzie (Henry Simmons) and Yo-Yo Rodriguez (Natalia Cordova-Buckley) race against time to save the outpost below the surface.

The trailer for the upcoming installment, which is titled "Best Laid Plans," was released just recently, and it shows Mackenzie and Rodriguez finding a bomb that is on a timer, and it is about to explode. They are joined by Flint (Coy Stewart), one of the human survivors.

"They could kill us in a flash," the young boy says. However, Mackenzie tells him that not only does Kasius want to kill the humans, but he also wants to incinerate the whole place. Kasius is the ruthless leader of the Kree, a race who thinks that they are better than all other species. He is bent on totally grinding the humans to dust, and he can do it at the push of a button.

"I promised suffering. Now I make good on that promise," he says to Daisy Johnson a.k.a. Quake (Chloe Bennet) and Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker). Apparently, Kasius has captured Johnson, Fitz, and the rest of the team on the surface of Earth. He shows them a device with a button on it. He presses it in front of the agents who are caught in disbelief. All of a sudden, the outpost located below the surface starts quaking, which prompts everyone there to scream in terror. It remains to be seen if Mackenzie and Rodriguez will be able to save them all.

In the last episode, Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) tried to get new clues from the clairvoyant Robin (Willow Hale). However, she got killed by the distrustful human survivors. Coulson went back to square one.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 5 episode 9 will hit the airwaves on Friday, Jan 26, at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
