Lorde responds to Jack Antonoff dating rumors: 'He's awesome, but we're not dating'

Lorde has finally addressed the rumors linking her to Jack Antonoff.

Since Antonoff's split with longtime girlfriend Lena Dunham, many fans have wondered if he and Lorde were making more than just music together. They have been spotted getting extra close on multiple occasions, leading to dating rumors. Lorde addressed the rumors Thursday night via Instagram Live and according to her, she and Antonoff are just friends.

"Jack and I are not dating ... I love him. He's awesome, but we're not dating," she said (via Billboard).

Lorde continues to focus on her music amid the dating rumors. She recently received the BRIT Award for International Female Solo Artist, beating out fellow nominees for the category: Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, Pink and Björk. She graciously accepted the recognition with a pre-recorded video because she is still on tour.

Antonoff served as the co-writer and producer of Lorde's second studio album titled "Melodrama." Aside from the New Zealand native, he has also worked with famous pop musicians such as Pink and Taylor Swift. He joined Lorde on stage several times as well, which means he will likely do the same once she begins her world tour this April.

Despite their split, Antonoff has stayed close with his former girlfriend of five years. He continues to support Dunham, especially now that she is going through some health issues.

"Lena and Jack are in a great place, not in a romantic way. Jack has been really supportive," a source told Us Weekly. "They aren't hanging out or talking every day but he's being supportive and they're in constant communication and being friendly with each other."

Lorde called it quits with ex James Lowe in 2016. Instead of Antonoff, she is believed to be in a relationship with Justin Warren. After his split with Dunham, Antonoff has reportedly moved on with model Carlotta Kohl.
