It was previously reported that the highly anticipated collaboration between J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar may be delayed due to the fact that both rappers are focusing on their solo careers and separate tours. However, a new report from Ecumenical News is pointing out that this collaboration may never happen as Lamar may be getting a new partner.

According to the report, Lamar recently posted a video via Instagram where he sang several songs from other performers. However, the report states that the main song he sang out loud in the clip is a song from Drake's new album "Views from the 6."

This has garnered speculation that Lamar may be replacing Cole with Drake on the collaboration project. It is stated that Drake and Lamar did go through a small feud and the rappers did jab at each other in each other's songs but it may appear that the rappers have gone past that and may be working together on a new project.

Lamar also sings one of Rihanna's songs and it may be a hint that he will be featuring the popular singer in one of his songs or in the new album he is allegedly working on. It is common for rappers and singers to guest feature on another performer's album, particularly when they work with the same producer.

According to a report from Yibada, it is possible that the collaboration between Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole may be off due to the fact that Cole is currently facing a lawsuit regarding the song "Don't You Want to Stay." The song title is exactly the same as the Bill Withers song from 1975.

The legal issues with Cole's music may have prompted Lamar to look elsewhere for a new collaboration project and this may explain his hint on Instagram. However, given that neither of the artists has confirmed nor denied the rumors the information should still be taken as pure speculation.

Does the Church of England need to re-think its messaging?

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
