'Inhumans' news: Film removed from Marvel's release schedule

Inhumans Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios has filled in its current release schedule for its Phase Three and Phase Four films, bumping several up and others down as it makes way for the solo "Spider-Man: Homecoming" movie that it is working on with Sony Pictures, as well as the "Ant-Man and Wasp"  and "Captain Marvel" films. However, because of this, it has taken out one film in particular: "Inhumans."

According to a report from Collider, "Inhumans" was originally going to be released between "Avengers: Infinity War" parts one and two. However, with the inclusion of the films listed above it has now been pushed out of Marvel's current lineup, although Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has stated that it is not entirely cancelled.

"Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added 'Spider-Man,'" said Feige. "We added 'Ant-Man and the Wasp,' which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an 'Indiana Jones' film for right around that same time. So I think it will shuffle off the current date that it's on right now."

When asked if the film is cancelled, Feige simply stated that the "Inhumans" movie would happen but that at the moment it is more of a matter of when, indicating that the film will find its place in the future when the current schedule clears up as more films are released. It is now likely "Inhumans" will take place late in Phase Four.

According to a report from Screen Rant, another reason why "Inhumans" may have been taken out of Phase Three is because the titular inhumans, who are beings with super powers, have already made a big impact on the MCU's television corner, with many inhumans being central characters on "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" and "Jessica Jones."

As it stands, Phase Three starts with the launch of "Captain America: Civil War" this May 6 and will end with "Avengers: Infinity War" part two, which premieres on May 3, 2019, with a total of 10 films all together.
