'GTA 6' rumors: Possible release date surfaces

"Grand Theft Auto 6" is already among the most talked about games online, and that's despite the fact that it hasn't even been officially announced yet.

That may be changing, however, as a supposed release date for the game is rumored to have been revealed.

According to Latinos Post, the latest chatter online has suggested that "Grand Theft Auto 6" may be a bit further off in the horizon than what people may have hoped. Right now, it's believed that "Grand Theft Auto 6" may not make its debut until 2018 at the earliest.

Year 2018 indeed may be far off, but it doesn't seem to be an outlandish suggestion in terms of a release date for the game, especially given just how little Rockstar has talked about it.

Rumors about the game possibly featuring a female protagonist and even having the entirety of the United States as its map have been going around in recent months. Yet, the game's developer has done little to quash the chatter, suggesting they may either be accurate or that they may still be working out the base of the new game.

What's clear is that there is excitement building around "Grand Theft Auto 6," and it will come built to a fever pitch when Rockstar eventually decides to announce it.

In related news, some fans have been hoodwinked by a recent hoax connected to "Grand Theft Auto 5."

According to iDigital Times, a recent banner that appeared on the PlayStation 4 page implied that there would be Halloween-centric downloadable content (DLC) coming to the game soon.

Unfortunately, the banner is nothing more than a fabrication and Halloween DLC related to "Grand Theft Auto 5," at least for now, is not real.

It's clear from the recent news regarding "Grand Theft Auto 5" and the rumors surrounding "Grand Theft Auto 6" that this particular franchise is still immensely popular, and that may hopefully lead to Rockstar working to come out with a new game sooner rather than later.
