Yukihira Soma has finally returned to keep working on his dream to inherit the family restaurant in the third season of "Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: The Third Plate."

Official airing of the anime started last Oct. 3 and has since been earning a lot of positive response from all anime communities. It was ranked number one anime released in October, followed by "Black Clover" and "King's Game." Fans can watch all three anime in the media portal, Crunchyroll.

The third season still follows the chef-in-training Soma who has been impressing everyone with his mind-blowing dishes since the first season back in September 2015. "The Third Plate" is expected to cover the Moon Banquet Festival story arc. The festival will take place two weeks after the Stagiaire and Autumn Leaf events where the Totsuki Culinary Academy is taking part of.

This means more Shokugeki arenas for Soma. In some point of which he should be facing off Kabutoyama Tetsuji. This also signals the return of the show format used in the first season.

A new character named, Nakiri Azami will be introduced in the third season. He is the biological father of Erina and previously owned the first seat in the Elite Ten Council.

Cast that are confirmed to return for the third season are Yukihira Soma (Matsuoka Yoshitsugu), Nakiri Erina (Taneda Risa), Kobayashi Rindou (Itou Shizuka), Akanegakubo Momo (Kugimiya Rei), Kinokuni Nene (Hanazawa Kana), Tsukasa Eishi (Ishida Akira), and Kuga Terunori (Kaji Yuki)

Season 3 staff will be headed by director Yoshitomo Yonetani, with Yasukawa Shogo as the series composer. Shitaya Tomoyuki is in charge of anime character design with Aketagawa Jin as the art director. The music composer for the anime is Katou Tatsuya.

J.C. Staff ("Toradora!" and "Sakurasou no Pet no Kanojo") will again be producing the anime.
