Fans of the Netflix series "Daredevil" may have to wait until 2018 to binge-watch its third installment to give way for other Marvel series that they invested to release for this year and 2017.

This is in line with Marvel's two series per year policy that are shown on Netflix where the series "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist" premiering this year while "The Defenders" and "Jessica Jones" are for 2017.

Chief content officer for Netflix Ted Sarandos admitted in an interview by IGN at the Television Critics Association that they should be doing more than two per year when asked if they could go for five as the announcement of premiering shows accumulated for release. "I doubt that we could produce at the quality that they produce at that speed. But we're gonna try to make them quicker so we can get less downtime between them," he said.

Following Elektra's (Elodie Yung) death on season 2 as she sacrificed herself to save Daredevil (Charlie Cox) from the ninjas, theories of her comeback arise for season 3 but with a different persona. The Hand later retrieved her body and placed her in a machine that could revive her back to life to serve The Hand's purpose, which is to turn her into "Black Sky."

This will bring complication to Matt Murdock if he will have to face the villainous side of Elektra. According to an article by MGN, Black Sky will be used as a tool by The Hand to create a war he will unleash in New York and Daredevil will need all the help he could get to prevent this from happening. This could prompt him to teaming up with Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones and could possibly lead the team.

Marvel is possibly building up their characters with the release of the other series, namely "Luke Cage", "Iron Fist" and "Jessica Jones," to make a connection for "The Defenders" where the four heroes could team up to defeat The Hand for its evil purpose.
