Christian artist Jonny Diaz understands what it's like to live a hectic life. There came a point in his life when he felt like he does not have time for anything, and the pressure to accomplish all the things he needed to do was getting too much.

"I was writing songs for my latest record, and I remember literally scheduling in a block of time where I was going to write," he told CBN News. "And I remember just getting so frustrated, thinking I don't have time for this—I just don't have any time to sit down and spend four hours, five hours writing a song when who knows if anyone's going to hear it."

Diaz said he was so busy trying to do what he thought God wanted that he was "running around like crazy."

"I was really letting my serving God replace my knowing God," he said. "And so with that in mind I wanted to write a song that would remind me to breathe ... and I never knew anyone else would get to hear it, but I'm so glad that they have."

The song Diaz was referring to is called "Breathe," and it is currently No. 4 on Billboard's Christian Airplay chart. It has been on the chart for 36 weeks already, and it's one of six songs on his latest EP, "Everything is Changing."

"I've never felt called to write pretty songs; I've just been called to write real songs," Diaz explained. "We live in an Instagram society that wants to filter every picture and make our lives look amazing. And so with my music, I want to take that away and take the veil away and just be real and authentic."

Diaz is best known for his 2009 hit "More Beautiful You," which inspires women not to feel pressured by society's standards for beauty and instead embrace God's Word and feel beautiful in His eyes.
