The casting line of "Castle" has grown a little longer, as ABC's crime procedural drama recently included Toks Olagundoye as one of the series regulars for season 8.

Olagundoye, first known as the fan-favorite extraterrestrial named Jackie Joyner-Kersee in "The Neighbors," will join the unbeatable tandem of Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) in "Castle's" eighth season. She will portray the role of former Scotland Yard police officer Hayley Vargas. According to reports, Vargas is a clever, eccentric person who now works as a security specialist. She is also described as a person who is not scared of crossing lines just to get things done.

TV Line reported that Olagundoye's Vargas will be introduced during the two-part season premiere of the show. This will not be the actress' first venture into the police procedural scene since she also appeared in other TV series in the same genre like "Law & Order," "NCIS" as well as "Prime Suspect" from NBC.

Aside from Olagundoye's character, The Inquisitr also reported that the show is looking for an actor to portray the role of a "high string East Indian tech analyst" who will join Castle and Beckett this season.

But will Vargas' and the tech analyst's entry in the lives of the main characters cause them to split up?

Rumors started going around saying that Beckett and Castle will call it quits after a blind item was posted on TV Line claiming that one of the most popular TV couples will have a major falling off and could possibly stay separated for good. The blind item says that the alleged split happens in a long-running one-hour drama series that will premiere in early fall, and it is being aired in one of the Big 5 broadcast networks.

"Castle" fans are worried that the rumor is talking about Castle and Beckett, but the show producers have not released any statement to address the speculations.

This means that fans have to wait until Sept. 21 for the "Castle" season 8 premiere to find out the fate of Castle and Beckett this season.
