'Boruto' manga release date, spoilers: chapter 2 featuring Chunin exams?

After the commercial success of the original "Naruto" series last year, it was decided that they will create a sequel, now featuring his son, Boruto. The first chapter of this new manga was recently released. CrossMap indicates that Weekly Shonen Jump chose Ukyo Kodachi, along with Mikio Ikemoto, the previous art assistant to Masashi Kishimoto, to spearhead this project. Kishimoto, the original mangaka for the "Naruto" series, will only be involved as a supervisor for this manga.

So far, the plot has just introduced the new cast of characters who are part of the new generation of young ninjas who are learning new skills alongside Boruto. The first chapter introduced the events of the movie shown last year, where Boruto just started to aim towards defeating his father by going to Sasuke. The Vine Report assumes that this manga might very well continue on to their teenage years, similar to the development in the original 'Naruto' manga.

This manga did predate the story showcased in "Boruto: Naruto the Movie," which was shown last year. Design Trend believes that this new chapter might recap on the Chunin Exams, which were only covered by a quick montage in the movie. They also believe that fans should see more background interactions with the various characters while on the Chunin exams. This second chapter should be released by Weekly Shonen Jump on June 6, which means eager fans may have a chance at peeking through leaks of raw scanlations beforehand.

However, if the "Boruto" series decides instead to focus on the main arc being shown in the novel, then it might take until the end of 2016 before they will finally cover the events shown in the movie. At the start of the chapter, an adult Boruto reveals his Byakugan. This may lead to an entire new generation of young fans who may keep supporting the continuation of the Naruto saga.
