Agent Booth (David Boreanaz) will go missing for at least two episodes in the upcoming season of Fox's long-running series "Bones."

Design & Trend reports that Brennan's (Emily Deschanel) husband will go missing in action after shortly getting back to work with the FBI. How he has gone missing, however, remains a mystery. Apparently, things will be serious enough, as a special agent will be recruited by the Bureau to find him.

According to TV Line, Kim Raver will play the role of Grace Miller, the operative in charge of Booth's disappearance. She will be appearing in the Fox drama for the first two episodes, triggering the speculations that Booth would be missing for the same length of time.

His disappearance, the website reports, could have something to do with his brother, Jared (Brendan Fehr). Back in season 5, Booth served as the best man for this sibling's wedding and that was the last time viewers had a glimpse of the other Booth.

According to rumors, Jared could be dead, which explained why his wife Padme (Dilshad Vadsaria) would be seen alone in the new season. Jared's obvious absence could mean that he was indeed deceased and his brother could be on a mission to find out what happened.

Meanwhile, showrunner Michael Peterson revealed something about Brennan in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. According to him, Brennan has given birth to a baby boy after she quit from her work at the Jeffersonian. He also provided a glimpse on how the new mother spent her free time aside from taking care of the baby.

"Brennan never has trouble filling up her time. She's written books, she's done multiple projects. She's more in between than Booth. She's diversified herself into many projects, so she hasn't quite landed on the one," he said.

"Bones" season 11 will premiere on Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
