As much as one thinks there's a second season coming for the anime adaptation of the manga series, "Attack on Titan" based on the simple notion that the first season was a massive success, it is ironic to realize that up until now, there still is no official release date. The legion of fans of the TV series know that a second offering is indeed in the works, but the only problem is the showrunners are eerily mum about when season 2 of "Attack on Titan" will debut.

Previous rumors claim that the first episode will air sometime in April next year, which is a very positive speculation considering how long fans have been waiting for it to finally air, especially at this point that the second season's storyline has become a lot clearer as the rumored air date nears.

As mentioned by a bunch of publications, season 2 of "Attack on Titan" will initially be about the revelation of main protagonist Eren Yeager's past and family history, in which a huge secret about his connection to the Titans will be unveiled.

Should the writers of the anime series decide to accurately depict the events in the source material, it means that Eren is in for another big revelation, this time it will be about his father. This is based on the progress in the manga series where it was revealed that Eren will come across a journal owned by his father once he enters the basement.

And while everyone is hooked on what Eren might discover in his father's basement, fans of "Attack on Titan" shouldn't forget that the Survey Corps is also there with its own agenda, more specifically digging through anything they can find that could help unravel hidden techniques on how to defeat the Titans. Per rumors, this might come in the form of a document which talks about the history of the beasts, which in turn could contain information on their weaknesses.
