Android 5.1 update for Samsung Galaxy S5, S4, Note 4, Note 3, Note Edge

Android 5.1 has been out for just a couple of weeks now and some Samsung owners are wondering when the latest Android OS would be coming for select Samsung devices like the S5, S4, Note 3 and Note 4.

Sadly, it doesn't seem that Samsung has started working on the practically new Android update. This should be bad news for most Samsung customers, particularly the ones who are looking for fixes on their respective devices.

This also means that for now, they have to make do with the Android 5.0.1 or 5.0.2 Lollipop for now.
Android 5.1 apparently carries bug fixes which could address some concerns of the mentioned Samsung devices but all that may take some more time considering the Android 5.1 OS is just new.

At the moment, the latest Android OS seems to be available only for Nexus phone and tablet owners.

There is no timetable on when Samsung may have the Android 5.1 Lollipop update available although they are already currently working on it. Such could take some time before so that Android 5.1 may be able to properly applied and provide the necessary fixes.

Among the fixes could include addressing phone contacts and browser performance issues among others.

With that said, it may be best to wait for Samsung's word on when Android 5.1 could be truly available. That would be better than applying an update that could eventually render more problems rather than fixing existing ones.
