The 32-year-old gospel singer and founding pastor of New Thing Empowerment Church, Shawn Jones, has collapsed and died while singing "Worthy He Is" on stage in an incident on Saturday night that has left his congregants shocked and saddened.

A video has emerged on Facebook showing Pastor Jones performing an opening song at The Event Center in Pensacola, Florida

Pastor Jones and his gospel band were performing as a closing act for the anniversary celebration of another band 'The Gospel Singingaires' on Saturday.

Witnesses have said that Jones had looked hot and bothered just before collapsing. He reportedly stopped to drink some water, and then sat down and starting speaking before passing out in front of a shocked and concerned audience at the event.

Some medical people at the event immediately attempted to revive the gospel singer until emergency responders arrived, and many among the attendees prayed for the pastor as medics tried to bring him back.

It has not been officially announced what caused the pastor's death, and his bandmates have not gone public with any comments as yet. Some from the event have left comments believing he died from a heart attack.

Jones leaves behind his wife Dominica, as well as three children, according to his church's website.
