'Vampire Diaries' season 6 spoilers: It's time to get married for Jo and Alaric in episode 21

Is there something to look forward to for Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) Facebook

While one couple is looking forward to their happily ever after, the fate of another Mystic Falls' couple is still in limbo in the upcoming episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 6.

As Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) and Alaric (Matt Davis) prepare for their wedding day, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is still contemplating on taking the cure that will help make him human after Elena (Nina Dobrev) took it last episode.

But can Damon really live a life without his vampire powers just to be the girl that he loves even if he refused to do the same in the past?

The synopsis for the episode titled "I'll Wed You in The Golden Summertime" reads:

"It's Alaric and Jo's wedding day and Elena and Bonnie (Kat Graham) do their best to help a stressed out Jo with the last minute preparations. After uncovering some life-changing news that Damon has been keeping from him, Stefan (Paul Wesley) takes his brother on a road trip to give him some perspective on his future with Elena. Elsewhere, when Caroline (Candice Accola) returns to Mystic Falls after dealing with the fallout of her humanity-free rampage, she begins making amends with her friends and comes to a realization about her and Stefan's prospects of being together. Finally, when Bonnie begins having vivid nightmares that Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) is coming after her, she enlists Matt's (Zach Roerig) help in taking Lily down."

Elena's decision obviously shook up Damon, but he just cannot decide to be a human, especially now that his ripper mother Lily wants to take revenge against Bonnie. And based on the spoiler, it seems like Stefan will force Damon to think deeper if he will continue with the cure or not.

Stefan will also have to face Caroline next episode, after she realized all the repercussions of the mistakes that she made when she was still without her humanity. This could be a start of something between the two.

Also, Kai (Chris Wood) is seen in the last moments of episode 20, and he is threatening to break loose from his prison world together with Lily's mutant vampires. Could this mean that the Mystic Falls will be facing a grave danger?

The Vampire Diaries Season 6 episode 21 airs on Thursday, May 7, on The CW.
