Unlike the first three seasons, "The Originals" season 4 will premiere next year, and Joseph Morgan, who plays protagonist Klaus Mikaelson, feels the pain of fans of having to wait longer for the series.

To help fans get by, the actor provided some exciting hints and teases on what to expect in the new season of the beloved vampire drama series.

Morgan took to Instagram to share some "The Originals" season 4 spoilers, revealing that New Orleans will turn upside down as fans will see things they thought were impossible.

"Someone will be betrayed. There will probably be a staking of some kind or another. Blood will flow. Enemies will become friends, friends will become enemies. Strange and new alliances will be formed," the actor teased.

"And most of all more than any of that, there will be Klaus," he went on to say, teasing that, although his character was left for dead in the previous season, he will rise with newfound power in "The Originals" season 4.

When fans last saw Klaus, he was imprisoned by Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) with his life in serious danger as his surrogate son makes him atone for his sins. He will survive, but only barely, and thankfully, so does his family.

The rest of the Mikaelsons were taken in some sort of alternate dimension by Freya (Riley Voelkel) that allowed them to escape death. In "The Originals" season 4, they will stay there until help arrives.

And by help, that means Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), who, along with daughter Hope, left New Orleans to find a way to save the clan.

"The Originals" season 4 will begin with a five-year time jump. Apart from an older Hope, nothing much has changed in terms of the situation of the characters.

Morgan's statement about betrayal and unlikely alliances teases that the dire circumstances will lead to a big mix-up as individuals that would rather be hostile towards one another are pushed to work together, while allies to turn their back on each other.

It is tough to figure out for now who is who, but what the actor teased promises a change in dynamic come "The Originals" season 4.

The new season will air next year, much to the disappointment of fans. Instead of 22 episodes, season 4 will only have 13, which has some fans thinking that the show might be axed soon.

There's no word of that yet, so fans will have to just wait for "The Originals" season 4 and see how it performs.
