The seventh and final season of "The Mentalist" will feature the love triangle between Patrick Jane, Teresa Lisbon and Agent Pike now that Patrick admitted that he loves Teresa.

In the cliffhanger final episode of "The Mentalist" season 6, fans saw how Patrick Jane expressed his love to FBI Agent Teresa Lisbon. Then he boarded a plane as he broke many rules to get around security. His sudden declaration of love to the FBI Agent will cause the confusion in Teresa's mind about flying to Washington and living with Agent Pike.

According to the spoilers, the next season will explore more on the love story of Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon and how the two can make it work. Fans can expect some changes now that the two will work together with more than the cases but they also have to deal with their personal feelings. Moreover, the two will have to deal with Agent Pike. Who will Teresa choose? A lot of questions have to be answered next season, which will help build up the plot.

It is more likely that "The Mentalist" will offer more than a crime drama, but will also explore the emotions of the characters. The blooming romance between the two characters will propel the series to its final moments. It will be fun to watch how Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon work on cases while deciding how to proceed with their personal relationship.

"The Mentalist" will have its final season and TV series creator Bruno Heller himself describes it as "like an encore" and it is about "giving [fans] what they want."

Unfortunately for the fans of the show, "The Mentalist" will take a hiatus and will not come back until mid-season. Avid viewers may have to wait until September for the season 7 of the hit police drama as CBS confirmed that the hit drama series will be back on its primetime spot.
