With the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) just around the corner, gamers are anticipating an announcement regarding the rumored "Pokémon Stars" game for the Nintendo Switch.

When Nintendo's new console was announced, the CEO of The Pokémon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara, confirmed that they would be creating games for the Nintendo Switch. Later on, Eurogamer reported that a game for the Nintendo Switch under the codename of "Pokémon Stars" would be revealed in 2017.

Although The Pokémon Company has not confirmed any information regarding the game, fans of the "Pokémon" franchise say that the announcement will come in May given the company's history with announcing their games during this month. Last year, the company announced "Pokémon Sun and Moon" in May, also.

Other hints that the "Pokémon" game will be announced sometime soon is the recent changes on the Nintendo Direct site. A blank space has been left where Pokémon Direct used to be, which leads fans to think that it will be replaced with another Pokémon stream.

Having an announcement before E3 2017 in June would be a good strategy for The Pokémon Company, so the trade show will be a platform to further explain their upcoming game, "Pokémon Stars." This strategy has been used by other game developers for "Call of Duty: WWII" and "Star Wars Battlefront II. "

As gamers wait for the announcement of "Pokémon Stars," there are a couple of things they hope to see in the next game. Some of these things are better graphics and animations. The Nintendo Switch gives the game developer more room to create sharper images for the characters. Another thing gamers would want to see is new Pokémon. In previous games, the Pokémon characters were limited to the original 150. It would be nice to provide gamers with a wider array of Pokémon to use in the next game.

Nintendo Switch players and Pokémon fans should sit tight for the announcement regarding "Pokémon Stars"
